Broward Housing Solutions Receives Recognition Award from Executive Services Corps

Broward Housing Solutions recently received a Special Recognition Award from the Executive Services Corps (ESC), a program of Broward County’s Senior Volunteer Services.  The award was presented by ESC Program Manager Marti Engel.

“Broward Housing Solutions stepped up to create an extremely successful partnership with Executive Services Corps by active involvement, open communication and terrific support of the program,” said Engel.  “We thank Broward Housing and its CEO Lisa Vecchi for their excellent example of community collaboration at its best.”

“Nonprofit agencies face many challenges in today’s economic climate.  Demands on their boards and staff have intensified, with pressure to deliver more services to more clients, while providing more measurable outcomes and doing more with less,” said Vecchi.  “This program is committed to strengthening non profit agencies so they can build capacity and effectively address their mission.”

The mission of Senior Volunteer Services is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of non profit organizations in Broward County by making available to them pro bono consulting services of active and retired executives and professionals.  ESC utilizes the exceptional skills and abilities of consultants who come from careers in business, academia and the nonprofit sector. They have managed organizations and people, planned growth and mastered changes. They have done and seen it all.

Broward Housing Solutions, a certified housing development organization (CHDO), provides permanent supportive rental housing to mental health consumers at a cost of only 30 percent of the consumer’s monthly income through its Rental Housing Program, assists with rent payments through its Rental Subsidy Program, provides housing to young adults and aged-out foster adults through its Housing Solutions for Young Adults program, and helps consumers become homeowners through its Homeownership Solutions program.  For more information, call 954-764-2800.
