Broward Housing Solutions Receives Chamber Award

          The Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce recently honored Broward Housing Solutions with the Small Business of the Year Award in the Non-Profit Category as part of its Annual Small Business of the Year Awards program.

          The Awards recognize and celebrate the success, best practices, innovative ideas and outstanding achievements of small businesses and organizations throughoutBrowardCounty. The honorees were selected from more than 30 applicants by the Chamber’s Small Business Committee, along with a representative from the program’s presenting sponsor, Citibank.

          “We’re very grateful to be honored with this prestigious award from the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce,” said Lisa A. Vecchi, CEO of Broward Housing Solutions.  “The staff and leadership of Broward Housing Solutions work extremely hard to operate efficiently and capably in order to provide affordable housing to the mental health consumers we serve.  It’s wonderful to be recognized publicly for our efforts.”

          Broward Housing Solutions® is a 501(c)3, which provides affordable, permanent rental housing to mental health consumers for 30% of their income, typically $220 per month.  A certified housing development organization (CHDO), Broward Housing Solutions® provides housing through its Rental Housing Program, assists with rent payments through its Rental Subsidy Program, provides housing to aged-out foster adults through its Housing Solutions for Young Adults program, and helps consumers become homeowners through its Lease-to-Buy program.  For more information, call 954-764-2800.
