TD Charitable Foundation Makes $10,000 Donation

Broward Housing Solutions of Fort Lauderdale Florida has received a $10,000 donation from the TD Charitable Foundation’s "Housing for Everyone" competition which supports affordable housing initiatives in the community.

Now in its third year, the "Housing for Everyone" competition offers local affordable housing non-profit organizations from Maine to Florida an opportunity to win funding for qualified housing projects in the communities where TD Bank (formerly known as Commerce Bank) and TD Banknorth do business.

“Broward Housing Solutions is grateful to TD Bank for its generous donation,” said Lisa Vecchi, president and CEO, Broward Housing Solutions.   “This grant ensures that the members of Broward’s mental health community served by Broward Housing Solutions continue to have safe, affordable housing.”

Broward Housing Solutions works to provide quality housing opportunities to meet the needs of lower income persons with mental illness.

Through the "Housing for Everyone" program, the TD Charitable Foundation donated a total $1.5 million in 2008, and has invested nearly $5 million in affordable housing to date.
